SIGHTSEEING AND CULTURE
IF YOU ARE LOOKING TO IMMERSE YOURSELF IN THE WELSH CULTURE, AND LEAVE WITH AN UNDERSTANDING OF OUR HERITAGE AND HISTORY, OUR SIGHTSEEING TOURS HAVE EVERYTHING COVERED
Our team aim to make your time spent with us fun, exciting, and memorable and also informative. Our tour offers the chance to learn about our Welsh culture and heritage, learn some tales and myths still spoken of to this very day in the mountains and national park. Our tour never fails to deliver as we offer a superior package in comparison to anywhere in the UK due to our location, and proximity to the national park, which means you spend more time sightseeing and exploring, instead of long hours to get from A to B.
Together with your guide you will spend the day visiting the highlights of this spectacular area sightseeing and exploring, travelling around Snowdonia National Park and Mount Snowdon, via the glacial passes, the striking Snowdonia Lakes, ancient castles and beauty spots of North Wales.
It’s your tour, but our passion. We’ve got you covered.
Caernarfon and Castle – A tour of Caernarfon and its immense castle. King Edward I created what is surely the most impressive of Wales’s castles. To this very day it remains a brute and intimidating fortress, and worthy of World Heritage status no less. Enjoy walking the colourful and quaint cobbled streets
Portmeiron, -A tour of Portmeirion, wondering around the colourful renowned Italian style coastal tourist village set in stunning surroundings and gardens. There are shops, café, tea-rooms and restaurant. Described as an artful and playful village, with a fantastic collection of architectural relics. Also known as a romantic and picturesque, relaxing and often enchanting village. A “happy relief” from the “rigid irrationalities and the calculated follies” of the modern world.
Snowdonia viewpoint and the Nant gwynant pass – A drive through part of the Snowdonia national park and one of its spectacular driving routes. We stop at the awe inspiring viewpoint of the valley below and its lakes, and the towering Snowdonia viewpoint and mountain range in front of us
Conwy valley – A scenic drive through Conwy valley and the traditional welsh villages on route back to Llandudno
Nant ffrancon pass & Llyn Owgain – We will drive into the glacial Nant Ffrancon Pass & Ogwen Valley in the heart of the snowdonia national park, and a photo opportunity of one of the many lakes we will be visiting. Also learning some local history and tales about local welsh myths and legends along the way
LLynau Mymbyr – Another photo opportunity, as we stop at llyn mymbyr in Capel curig, with Snowdonia now in view at the end of the lake
Snowdonia viewpoint on the Nant gwynant pass – A spectacular viewpoint of the valley below and its lakes, and the towering Snowdonia mountain range in front of us
Pen y Pass – We take the famous Pen y Pass road from the upper regions of the mountains to the lower sumits and into the mountain village of Llanberis. This scenic drive you are likely to see rock climbers, mountain walkers and feel dwarfed by the towering valley slopes
Llanberis and the National Slate museum – Here you can travel into the past of an industry and a way of life that has chiseled itself into the very being of this country. The Workshops and Buildings are designed as though quarrymen and engineers have just put down their tools and left the courtyard for home, while an array of Talks and Demonstrations including slate-splitting give you a real insight into the hardships of past quarry life.
Dolbadarn castle – A few minutes walk up from the car park are worth the views alone. Built by the Welsh prince Llywelyn the Great during the early 13th century, at the base of the Llanberis Pass, and overlooking padarn lake. The castle was important to both militarily and as a symbol of Llywelyn’s power and authority.
Llyn Padarn – We will stop at the lake side of Llyn Padarn. Here you can see in the backdrop the years of workings of the old slate quarrying. And next to the lake is a beautiful large sword sculpting of King Arthurs Excalibur.
Conwy Castle – – Here we will do the ancient castle tour, visit the smallest house in Britain, walk the castle walls, stroll along the Conwy estuary, see some old tudor houses and view some traditional welsh art and craft shops
