If travelling from outside the UK then we would recommend having travel insurance for your own piece of mind. This would help you in case your baggage went missing at the airport, if you lose your wallet and credit cards, or if you incurred an illness or injury and require medical attention, or if you damage some of your electrical equipment. If you’re a UK citizen and passport holder the need for insurance may not be necessary as you will be covered for medical cover by the NHS, however you won’t be covered for loss of equipment or baggage, so travel insurance would be down to your own requirements.

Please use the following website to check all the latest requirements for Visa entry to the UK. Fill in your details at the drop down menu, reason for travel, and the website will tell you what requirements you need, and how to acquire them https://www.gov.uk/check-uk-visa/y

Yes. Our guides have mobile numbers which will be issued to all on arrival, and we have a place of business phone number which is available on our home page. Additionally most people nowadays have their own mobile phones to use and relatives and family are able to contact them directly.

Also the UK has an emergency number to call (999), and also (111) if it’s a medical enquiry that is less urgent than 999.

Electricity in Wales
In Wales the power sockets are of type G. The standard voltage is 230 V and the standard frequency is 50 Hz.

Which power plugs and sockets in Wales?
In Wales the power sockets are of type G.

What voltage and frequency in Wales?
In Wales the standard voltage is 230 V and the frequency is 50 Hz. You can use your electric appliances in Wales, if the standard voltage in your country is in between 220 – 240 V (as is in the UK, Europe, Australia and most of Asia and Africa). Manufacturers take these small deviations into account. If the standard voltage in your country is in the range of 100 V – 127 V (as is in the US, Canada and most South American countries), you need a voltage converter in Wales. You can also consider a combined power plug adapter/voltage converter.
To be sure, check the label on the appliance. Some appliances never need a converter. If the label states ‘INPUT: 100-240V, 50/60 Hz’ the appliance can be used in all countries in the world. This is common for chargers of tablets/laptops, photo cameras, cell phones, toothbrushes, etc.

In general tipping is not expected in Wales. It is very much dependent on the person. If you were a local, tipping would not be the normal practice, only if you feel that you were very pleased with your service at a restaurant, you were well looked after by the hotel staff, you gained a good rapport with the bar man, or the taxi driver kept you in good conversation, then a tip would always be appreciated, however it is never expected. There is no percentage of an overall bill fee expected. Usually some spare change is suitable. Please see the link below for a rough guide.

It would be advisable to get some British pounds before you leave from your bank or travel agent. You can also use an ATM at the airport as soon as you arrive. There are many ATM machines all over Wales that will be easily accessible during your stay with us. You may want to check what the transaction fee that your card company will charge. For example, if you are a non UK bank card holder, your bank will make a small charge to you for withdrawing money from a cash machine. This is usually a fee of about 1 UK pound. Some foreign banks may take a percentage of your overall withdrawl which is usually 1%, please see you banks terms and conditions. Also it is advisable to tell your bank of your plans to travel abroad, as they may deem your card to have been stolen if you do not inform them, and they may cancel your card during your travels.

Spending on a holiday or a weekend break is very much dependent on the person. Some people may be on a tight budget, and some may not have a limit they can spend. Some persons may wish to eat out every night, and some not. And some may wish to do some local shopping, and some not. What we do advise is that you have enough money each day in your pocket for our daily lunch stop.

We choose to use company vehicles that have a maximum of 16 persons. We do this as we feel that larger and more commercial vehicles with greater numbers take away the intimacy of the group. People are likely to make more friends in smaller group numbers instead of numbers at mass. An initial booking of 6 persons is first required to make a custom booking live, and any additional numbers added to the 6 persons thereafter can be any amount from a single person booking and upwards. You can click on our webpage and view the ATS calendar to see the number of places booked/available.
